Philosophy
Our practice focuses a great deal of its energy on the internal training of articled clerks and new members of staff. First and foremost, this is necessary in order to meet the strict requirements placed on our services and consultancy by clients. In the second place, in our small, but fast-growing organisation, we aim to train our staff so that they quickly and effectively become independently operating solicitors in their own right. They must be competent in dealing with the sizable and often complex case load submitted by our clients, accurately and independently. They must show respect for their legal profession, and be entitled to the trust and confidence of clients.
The combined experience of our in-house trainers enables our practice to adequately prepare our articled clerks for their future careers in the legal profession. We believe that effective hands-on training within the practice is as of equal importance to the normal external training programmes (forums and seminars, NOVA, Grotius, post-graduate studies, real estate studies, and forums of professional associations such as VBR-A and VAR).
One of the goals of Gijs Heutink Advocaten is to single ourselves out as a legal practice where highly qualified and talented legal professionals work. To that end, in the coming years, we aim to expand and develop the legal area in which we excel: project development and construction law, environmental planning and European administrative law, public-private partnerships, tender law and procedural practice. A broad group of highly qualified solicitors is indispensable for attaining these goals.
